We’re not getting adequate advice from our health care providers. We’re told to “take a prenatal vitamin” and “avoid these foods” and the conversation about nutrition often ends there.

This leaves us to Google what we can and can’t eat without any discussion about what foods we should be adding to our diet for the best health outcomes for our babies and our best health postpartum

Hi! I’m Alex Wachelka, your Nutrition Coach

I am a Certified Perinatal Nutrition Expert and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

When I was pregnant with my first, I was always trying to find ways to reduce my nausea and heartburn and increase my energy levels.

Then when I was breastfeeding, I struggled with always feeling hungry, reaching for crackers and granola bars instead of nourishing my body to rebuild it after pregnancy and create the most nutritious milk for my baby.

And when we felt ready to conceive our third, we struggled for several months.

So I set out on a mission to begin improving my nutrition to set my body up for future conception and postpartum again.

Several years, certifications and 3 babies later, I’m here supporting YOU to have the healthiest pregnancy and postpartum. My approach is rooted in understanding, compassion, and practical advice tailored to your unique needs.

Personalized nutrition coaching is for

  • Conception planning whether it’s your first baby, a new addition to the family or you need the help and support of IVF
  • Pregnancy – support through all trimesters so you can have a healthy pregnancy and the energy to finish the nursery and prep yourself some postpartum meals

FAQs

Are the calls really free?

YES!! I offer these 15 min ‘coffee chat’ sessions to find out more about you and your goals (are you trying to conceive, wanting to get rid of your nausea, exhausted postpartum etc) and if we feel like the right fit for each other, I’ll let you know how my coaching services can help you. There’s no pressure to have to work with me at all.

How long is a coaching package?

Single consults can be booked! Though a package is most supportive because you’ll have me every step of the way for accountability, advice, support and check ins. Coaching packages are 12 weeks because this will take you through an entire trimester or 3 menstrual cycles if you’re TTC. They are available with optional messaging support depending on how much access to me personally you’d like.

Where does the coaching happen?

When you sign up for a coaching package (or consult) the actual coaching sessions will happen over zoom. We’ll have an initial deep dive session lasting about 60-75 minutes with 30 minute follow ups scheduled every 2 weeks for the length of your package.

What can I expect?

You can expect to be heard and feel like someone is listening to you! Especially when you’re struggling to get pregnant or feeling crappy with pregnancy or postpartum symptoms. You can expect to have me available to provide recipes, grocery lists, help you read/double check nutrition labels, and answer your questions every step of the way*. I’ll take you through my food-first framework which will cover everything you need to have a plan to begin to bring more nutrition into your body with food. By the end of the 3 months, you’ll be feeling more nourished, more energized and less confused and overwhelmed around your nutrition.
